Austin Pride turned up the heat with the theme “Queer Cabaret: Unleashed Glamour + Glitz”! With over 200,000 attendees each year, this year’s celebration turned out to be the most dazzling yet. Stuver walked in his first Austin Pride parade since moving to Texas. He was hosted by Lexus on behalf of Austin FC and then doubled back to walk with Equality Texas.
Siete hosted a bodyweight strength + conditioning workout, yoga cool down, and breakfast with the Austin Siete familia. The workout was be led by Brad Stuver, Goalkeeper for Austin FC, and it was followed by a cool down led by Ashley Stuver. All proceeds from the event were generously donated to Engage Currents' The Laundry Project.
Stuver and his wife, Ashley, held the second Austin Laundry Project day of 2024. In collaboration with Austin Anthem, The Fighting Leslies, Pollo FC, and Los Verdes, they helped 99 families wash over 800 loads of laundry across 2 locations. Since starting the Laundry Project days in Austin, Stuver and crew have helped over 1300 Austin families do more than 9000 loads of clean clothes.
AISD hosted its 10th annual Social and Emotional Learning and Cultural Proficiency and Inclusiveness Symposium for hundreds of local educators, administrators, and community members on June 20, 2024. This year's SEL and CP&I Symposium theme was "Collective Growth Rooted in Sharing Brilliance.” Stuver gave the closing keynote, discussing the lessons he had learned so far in his professional career, working to understand how to get the best out of his teammates from different countries, speak other languages, and cross different age groups.
Stuver and his wife, Ashley, held the first Austin Laundry Project day on April 28. In collaboration with Austin Anthem, The Fighting Leslies, Pollo FC, Los Verdes and Thunderbird Coffee, over 200 families washed over 1200 loads of laundry across 3 locations. Since starting the Laundry Project days in Austin, Stuver and crew have helped over 1200 Austin families do more than 8200 loads of clean clothes.
Stuver was joined by Brad and Kerry Tillery during their annual Laundry Supply Drive where the Fighting Leslie's Drinking Club helped secure over 1000 pounds of laundry supplies to be used at this years laundry projects in Austin. The Sourdough Project joined this years efforts to pass out product and donate proceeds for this years projects.
Stuver was awarded the 2023 President's Lifetime Achievement Award. The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.
Stuver had the opportunity to sit down with Meta's strategic partner manager for athletes, Elizabeth Stranges. They discussed the importance of athletes using their social media to build their brands and showcase their various interests off the field. They also discussed how to utilize the ever-changing landscape of social media to monetize the athletes brand.
Stuver was the keynote speaker at this years ADL Austin No Place for Hate Youth Summit held at the Texas State Capital. Central Texas middle schoolers came to the capital for a 2 day training about anti-bullying and allyship. Stuver started the day talking about his journey to allyship and how each one of us makes the conscious decision, everyday, to stand up against bullying, in all forms.
Equality Texas has been fighting to secure full and lived equality for LGBTQ+ Texans in all areas of the law for nearly 35 years. We have been committed to this work despite a hostile landscape because we have the power of our community—a community that shows up, speaks out, and pushes back no matter how hard things can be. Every time we are knocked down, we get back up and create new plans, new ways to fight. This year we want all Texans to know that Texas has always been queer. And that won’t ever change. As a result of your generosity at the gala, $362,031 has been raised to support this important work. While the evening’s celebration is over, our work is only just beginning.
Stuver had the honor to announce the 4ATX Leyendita of the Year award at this years 4ATX Gala, showcasing the amazing work being done throughout the year by Austin FC's nonprofit arm. The Leyendita award is given to a young person in 4ATX programs who has shown exceptional leadership skills and dedication to helping those around them.
For the second year in a row, Stuver teamed up with HopSquad Brewing Company and the Bobby Jones CSF to fundraise and raise awareness for rare neurological disorders like chiari and syringomyelia. Through a cornhole tournament and silent auction they were able to raise nearly $10,000 to the organization.
On Friday, September 8, the Austin FC Grounds Team, 4ATX Foundation staff and Tellus Equipment Solution staff lined and painted fields, assembled benches, repainted goalposts, and picked up trash ahead of East Austin Soccer Club’s upcoming season. Austin FC players Brad Stuver and Damian Las also joined the efforts.
During the latest winter storms of 2023, the field sign of East Austin Soccer Club was destroyed. Together, Austin FC, the Club’s nonprofit arm 4ATX Foundation, and partner Tellus Equipment Solutions donated a new sign and provided support to the fields for another year through mowing, line painting and equipment donations. Tellus also provided landscaping equipment to manicure the pitch.
“KUT Considers” is a quarterly series facilitating community conversations around a range of topics – from current events to culture. KUT’s Jimmy Maas and Juan Garcia hosted a fun conversation about the business, sport and charity facets of the club with some of the people who make it happen, including Austin FC Vice President of Community Impact Trennis Jones, goalie Brad Stuver and Austin musician Mélat.
The Audi Goals Drive Progress program is bringing an impact off the pitch by financially supporting and spotlighting community initiatives championed by MLS athletes. Throughout the season, the “Celebrating Impact” content series will embrace leaders across the league whose dedication to charitable efforts and social impact work create sustainable communities, foster equity and inclusion, and enrich the lives of those in need. MLS players Zac MacMath, Brad Stuver and Steve Birnbaum are celebrated for their involvement with their inclusive community work projects through the Audi Goals Drive Progress program.
For the second year in a row, Stuver partnered with Equality Texas and Avow to raise money for the two organizations by raffling off the chance to score a penalty kick on the goalkeeper. The event was a chance to raise awareness about the attacks on reproductive rights and the LGBTQIA+ community in the Texas legislature as well as at the Supreme Court level. With over 150 people turning out and 75 people trying their luck taking shots at Stuver, this event is continuing to grow and getting more people involved in the fight for equality.
Audi of America, Major League Soccer and The Players’ Tribune today announced that Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver will be featured in the “Celebrating Impact” content series for his demonstration of excellence in driving progress in his community.
Working directly with Stuver to spotlight causes that are important to him, content will be unveiled through written, video, and social across The Players’ Tribune’s channels, amplifying the power of Stuver’s voice and raising awareness for Engage Current - The Laundry Project, Equality Texas and Athlete Ally.
